This guide is intended to provide an understanding of strategic marketing, from preparation and planning to implementation and follow-up execution. This guide will help you understand how to effectively develop a successful strategic and operational marketing plan.

¿What is the difference between strategic and operational marketing?

Within the marketing plan, it is essential to distinguish between strategic and operational marketing. While strategic marketing involves a thorough analysis of your company's environment, such as customers, competitors, opportunities, etc., operational marketing translates this theory into tactical decisions. It is the most practical part of the plan, but not necessarily the most important..

The four P's of marketing

Although it may seem very academic when it comes to developing an effective operational marketing plan, you need to know the four P's (Product, Price, Place and Promotion). These are the essential components of a successful marketing plan.

Steps to prepare a marketing plan

There are different stages of the marketing plan that will help you define the strategy for your company. Here are 6 steps to follow, from the definition of objectives to the proposal of a results analysis.

1. Define the mission of the department: What is your purpose? What do you want to achieve?: It is important to establish the purpose of the marketing strategy.

2. Analyze the market: Understanding the current market and its dynamics is crucial to creating a successful marketing plan. Use data and market research to analyze existing customers, target audiences, competitors and opportunities.

3. Estimate time and resources: It is important to allocate the right budget and it is essential to make sure that you have the right people to execute the plan. This is key for the distribution of objectives and tasks within the team.

4. Set goals and objectivesHow will we measure the success of this plan: The next step is to develop a list of goals and objectives that are SMART (Specific, Measurable, Relevant and above all Achievable over the duration of the plan).

5. Develop tactics and strategies: Armed with the knowledge gained in the previous steps, it's time to develop tactics and strategies to reach your customers and drive engagement. Keep in mind all the roles of the digital channels you can use, such as social media, email campaigns and website design.

6. Monitor results How are we going to monitor and measure results?

It is essential that once the objectives have been established, we have the clarity to identify the tools or methodology for monitoring all activities and measuring the success of each one. This will help you to adjust the plan if necessary.

Definitely the work process is key but the attitude during the execution is essential, so please keep in mind the following tips:

A. Without a team you don't get far: The plan must have been developed with your team so that everyone is complicit in the success.

B. Don't be afraid to experiment: Don't be afraid to use different tactics/ideas to achieve your desired objectives.

C.Without discipline you can't:It is important to recognize that things can sometimes take longer than desired. That is why patience is essential to maintain consistency over time.

In conclusion, "Work with Passion but not Passionate" A plan does not guarantee success but it does minimize failure.Trust the information but most of all trust your team.#PoweredbyPeople
